2 Year Wedding Anniversary

2 years ago today I made the most important decision in my life--to marry the man of my dreams! I'm certainly glad I did. Life has been nothing short of a fairy tale--I have a wonderful husband who loves and cherishes me. We have a beautiful baby boy who constantly reminds me of how wonderful my life truly is. I'm so grateful for the knowledge that I have--to know that Skyler and I can be together forever, and that our children are sealed to us for eternity. Nothing makes me happier. I am blessed beyond measure. Sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve such amazing, loving men in my life. I guess I did something right! :-) Tonight Skyler is surprising me for our anniversary! I'm so excited. All I know is to meet him at the Venetian tonight. Well, enjoy listening to our "song." When we were sealed, the sealer said that he didn't have the opportunity to tell many couples this, but that Skyler and I had made promises to each other in the pre existence to come to Earth and find one another. Still gives me goosebumps!

Here we are two years ago

And now today! Oh how my life has changed!!!

Presents, presents, and more presents

Needless to say, we did most of the unwrapping today. Ethan sure loved all of his presents though. And I'm happy to report that Skyler and I both did a great job of buying things for each other this year without the other one knowing what we bought! It's much more fun that way. We feel very blessed though, to get the things we want/need throughout the year. Here are some more pics of Christmas with the Black's! Some of Ethan's favorites include: Tickle me Cookie Monster, an Elmo driving toy with his very own keys, a leap frog caterpillar that plays music, building blocks, motorized jeep, and a puzzle board that spells his name (thanks Emme!).

Christmas Day at the Black's!!

Today we celebrated Christmas with Ethan because we fly back to Colorado on the Thursday to celebrate with both of our families. Skyler and I both agreed that it was important to us to also have our "own" family Christmas and traditions. So seeing how Skyler has to work until Wednesday, we figured today was the best time to do it.

We realize that Ethan has no idea what is going on--has no clue who Santa is (although we did take him to meet him) and doesn't care about opening presents. I still had Ethan help me make sugar cookies and we left them out for Santa and still had lots of presents to Ethan from Santa Clause. I guess Ethan was a good boy this year......

One tradition that I'm going to continue from my childhood is that every Christmas Eve, all the children got new pajamas to wear on Christmas Morning-so that we all looked decent for pictures. This year, I ordered some cute gingerbread pj's for me from VS and got Ethan a pair of gingerbread pj's from Gymboree. I have yet to convince Skyler to wear new pajamas (actual pajamas) but he refuses, so we got him a new pair of lounge pants. Ethan looks like in old man in his new pajamas because they're flannel and button down the front! I think he's adorable!

Here's Skyler giving Ethan his present....

And here's Ethan being more interested in his daddy...

So mama had to do it

How precious!!

Because this is obviously not his usual bedtime routine--he thought it was play time with daddy

We have the best baby ever!!!

Ok, so last night was Skyler's company's Christmas Party. It was at AJ's Steakhouse inside the Hard Rock Hotel. We took Ethan over to a good friend's house around 5:30 and picked him up around 9:30. She told us that he was a really good boy (we didn't expect to hear anything different) and that he went to bed around 7:30. I went up and sadly had to wake him up. My mom's best advice has been to "never wake a sleeping baby" but we had too! We strapped him into his car seat and brought him home. Skyler took Ethan up to his room and put him in his crib. I thought for sure that because we had woken him up that he would have to stay up with us for a bit before he was ready to go back to bed, but that wasn't the case at all! He went right back to sleep! And the best news is that he slept until 9 this morning!!! It is going to be a glorious day. I guess that's what happens though when you have the Tasmanian Devil for a son. :-) He must be the sleepiest boy in the world when he goes to bed after the days he has! Now, he is happily eating his blueberries in his highchair. They are his favorite thing to eat in the whole world. He two hands them into his mouth as fast as he can. And not only is it left and after the right hand--each hand usually has about 3 blueberries in it. :-) It's pretty hilarious to watch. Oh, and he has 3 teeth on the bottom (which are absolutely adorable--I can't keep my hands out of his mouth!) and he has 1 coming through on top and it looks like the second tooth on top will be breaking through in no time. Thank goodness for Hylands Teething Tablets. The best thing ever.

Notice Left hand....

Then right.....

Happy to be eating his blueberries!

Today, we have Gymboree and some Christmas shopping to finish up on. We're also going to take Ethan to meet Santa Clause! Yay! I'll post pictures!!!

Christmas Party Goodies

One of Skyler's buddies from work had a little get together to watch the First Presidency Christmas Devotional last night-and it was a lot of fun. The speakers and music were so uplifting. Ethan loved to watch when the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang. We had to bring a dessert, so Ethan and I made cupcakes--festive snowmen ones! They were a hit!

Here's Ethan "helping" mama with the cupcakes (can you tell he had noodles for lunch?!)

And here's how they turned out!
